Could Captain Sharod Hunter have held Tucson against the California Militia had he chosen to make a stand?

Picacho Peak
The Battle of Picacho Peak did not take place on Picacho Peak at all, but rather in Picacho Pass a couple of miles away. By any standards the engagement was a skirmish between scouting parties and not a full fledged battle; while the engagement itself was small the outcome was huge beyond all proportion.
Picacho Pass
The battle started to the left of the black butte.
The battle ended out in the wash in front of the smaller hills.
