The Seven Days
June 25 - July 1, 1862

There are two ways of looking at the Seven Days, the traditional approach is to consider it Lee's campaign against McClellan; but, as I was driving around to the various battlefields, they seemed to overlap in many places and really resembled one big battlefield. Most of the battles that make up the Seven Days involve only one part of each army, at least until everyone finally concentrated at Malvern Hill. For me anyway, it became easier to consider the whole thing as one big battle involving a lot of maneuvering and skirmishes. That is why I consider The Seven Days in total as the fifth most significant battle in the Civil War.
