The Visitors Center

Just follow the signs. It's a lot like the Corrinth Driving Tour but easy to follow.

Tour Stop 1 is an overview site there is a mile long walk with interpretive signs along the way. If you’re in hurry skip this stop or don't do the walk. There are two interpretive walks each a mile long, if you only have time for one, to the last one.

Both of these monument are are at the stop and can be seen without doing the walk.

Tour Stop 2 is where the battle actually started. You drive past Hicks Field on the way to the stop. As can be seen in the diagram bellow the road follow the path of the Union retreat.

Each of the stops after the first one has one of these sings explaining the action with a map to show movements.

What your suppose to see at this stop is a sunken road, but its gone; there is this old house, however.

Hick's Field.

Tour Stop 3 is the Confederate Position.

Shot down the road, you can see the Post Office and two more canon. This marks the position of Forrest's artillery.

The real point of this stop is the well. It is screened and locked but there is stil water in it.

This is the stop,

The actual action was over this way across the creek.

Tour Stop 7
I missed the sign, but its there at the entrance to the stop.

This is the crux of the battle. It was here the Union was trapped and Forrest was trapped in turn.

The corn crib out back.

The Post Office and Tour stops 1 and 3 are right over the canon.

The Union Line.
