Hold at Mountain Run
June 9, 1863

The Hold at Mountain Run battle took place as a part of the larger battle at Brandy Station. The battle was largely forgotten, swallowed up in the events of Brandy Station and Gettysburg. The battlefield was rediscovered by a farmer clearing his land during the 1950’s. Becoming interested in what had happened the farmer conducted his own research and eventually, with some help from the state, created this little park to show what he found and raise public awareness of this forgotten battle.
