Tullahoma: The Duck River at the Old Stone Fort
July 1863

I started at the Visitors Center and walked counter clockwise around the site.
This is the duck river at the Visitors Center.
The river splits making the site an island, this is the eastern branch.
Excavation of the wall and part of the settlement.
From the bluff overlooking the estern branch.
Looking north north west over the island from the south side.
2000 year old stone walls built by Indians. There's something to think about.
Part of the path along the south side of the island/site.The wall is on the left.
The western branch of the Duck River. Bragg had expected an attack from Rosecrans to come over the river out here away from the mountains.
Rosecrans did stage a series of diversonary attacks out here on Bragg's left but his real attack came through Beech Grove and Hoover Gap.
This rive would have made a great defensive line for Bragg. Perhapse that is why Old Rosy avoided it.
I guess I was going backwards around the trail, oh well what else is new... But wait until you see the Blue Hole Falls, I'm glad I didn't see them first.
Climbing down into the Blue Hole is a little spooky.
Out of the hole.
